Speakers
Bureau

The
idea of a Speakers Bureau came up a
meeting of our Jobs Group and was approved by the
Coordinating Committee. A plan of operation, a group
charter, and benchmarking standards were been adopted as a result of
ongoing work meetings.
Under
that plan, the
Speakers Bureau would represent the Learning Group and the cause of
organizational development to business and professional groups and possibly
in other venues. The
bureau would maintain a portfolio of speaker members who have subject
matter expertise in OD topics. It would also develop a peer assessment and counseling group, which will preview presentations
and provide guidance to speakers. In addition, the bureau would have
a marketing component that will find speaking engagements and publicize
this special interest group.
Guidelines
for speakers were subsequently adopted, portfolio enrollments were
made, and an assessment apparatus was developed.
Unfortunately, however, those involved in founding of the bureau
were not able to maintain the effort. We are thus seeking a new
leader and new volunteers who can launch and sustain this SIG.
