Spirit of Organizational Development

Each program meeting, we have a drawing for members for a free seminar or other prize. At our July 2006 meeting, we gave away an art work. We believe that this is the world's first commission of a work of art on behalf of an organizational development program meeting. The collage, symbolizing "The Spirit of OD," is the work of member Crystal Brown.

Crystal Brown's "Art for All Occasions" provides one-of-a-kind montage art, original poetry, and the highest quality art reproductions possible. She has participated in the Boston Afro-American Artists Association's annual Art in the Park, Roxbury Open Studios, and The Renaissance Art & Design/Heard Gallery Epiphany series.

The title of the collage is "Four Seasons".  It illustrates the concept that, while organizations will always go through transitions, leadership should also acknowledge that the need for "seasonal change" and characterizes how teams can compile a "series of pictures" or individual ideas to form a unique product or service, one that may have not surfaced had it not been a "collective effort". Her work helps organizations acknowledge that change requires creativity and innovation and that is how the "artistic mindset" can help achieve those objectives.
